Lần đầu tiên, công nghệ Flyknit 360 được áp dụng lên giày bóng rổ và công nghệ Nike React sẽ là bộ đệm chính cho mẫu giày Nike Kobe mới nhất này. DeMar DeRozan hôm nay đã ra sân với một mẫu giày hoàn toàn mới và với một “Kobe-Head” như DeRozan, đó chắc hẳn phải là một mẫu Nike Kobe mới nhất. Không gương mặt nào có thể ra mắt một mẫu giày Kobe tốt hơn DeMar DeRozan và còn gì tuyệt vời hơn khi mẫu Kobe mới nhất này lại được ra mắt trong trận đấu giữa Cleveland Cavaliers và Toronto Raptors, đội bóng được ‘đại diện’ bởi hai cầu thủ gần như lớn nhất của Nike hiện tại.  Trên chân của DeMar DeRozan chính là Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360, đứa con mới nhất của đại gia đình giày của huyền thoại Kobe Bryant. Với rất nhiều công nghệ mới nhất, hiện đại nhất, Kobe A.D. NXT 360 một lần nữa có thể sẽ viết lại lịch sử về giày bóng rổ hiện nay. Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360 sử dụng chất liệu mới nhất của Nike với tên gọi Flyknit 360. Đây là thế hệ thứ hai của chất liệu vải đan FlyKnit vừa được ra mắt cách đây một tháng trên mẫu giày đá banh Nike Mercurial Syperfly 360 và đang được sử dụng trên chân của siêu sao Cristiano Ronaldo. Để tạo nên Flyknit 360, các sợi chất liệu sẽ không chỉ được đan lại với nhau như bình thường mà sẽ được đan theo một khuôn bàn chân người thật. Cùng với sự tác động của nhiệt, thành phẩm sau khi đan sẽ có được hình dáng ban đầu tương đương với bàn chân. Với FlyKnit 360, Nike sẽ tạo ra được một phom giày giống nhất có thể với bàn chân, giúp toàn bộ phần da trên (upper) sẽ ôm trọn bàn chân theo cách tự nhiên nhất. Chính nhờ độ ôm này của chất liệu mà Kobe A.D NXT 360 có phom giày khá nhỏ và rất khác so với một mẫu giày bóng rổ thông thường. Mẫu Nike Kobe A.D NXT 360 sẽ là mẫu giày bóng rổ đầu tiên sử dụng công nghệ Flyknit 360 và đây có thể sẽ là bước ngoặt lịch sử về cách sử dụng chất liệu cho giày bóng rổ trong tương lai, đặc biệt là đối với chất liệu vải đan (knit). Kết hợp với Flyknit 360, Nike sử dụng một công nghệ khác cũng là lần đầu tiên xuất hiện nhưng là với riêng dòng giày Kobe. Đó là công nghệ đệm Nike React. Bộ đệm của Nike Kobe A.D NXT 360 sẽ là sự kết hợp giữa Nike React và Lunarlon, giúp mang lại sự cân bằng giữa độ êm vừa đủ và cảm giác chân tốt trong từng bước chạy, tăng tốc hoặc chuyển hướng. Khác với người tiền nhiệm Kobe A.D Mid, lần này bộ đệm của Kobe A.D NXT 360 sẽ nằm ở lót giày (theo dạng Drop-in Midsole) giống như Kobe A.D NXT, Kobe 11, Kobe 9 và Kobe 8. Bên dưới sẽ là một mặt đế vô cùng hứa hẹn với thiết kế hàng trăm núm cao su nhỏ được xếp đa hướng với khoảng cách khá hoàn hảo. Sự sắp xếp này sẽ giúp hạn chế bụi hoặc cát bám vào giữa các rãnh để luôn mang lại hiệu năng tối đa. Thiết kế mặt đế này chắc chắn sẽ mang lại một độ bám cực kỳ ấn tượng, tuy nhiên độ bền khi chơi ở các sân ngoài trời như tại Việt Nam sẽ là một vấn đề lớn khi các núm cao su này thường sẽ khá mềm và cực kỳ mau mòn. Nike chưa có công bố chính thức về mức giá hoặc ngày ra mắt, nhưng nhiều khả năng Kobe A.D NXT 360 sẽ được mang lên sân thi đấu trong mùa Playoffs tới đây và sẽ chính thức bán ra thị trường trong mùa hè. It seems that Kobe or Nike is not keen on the number 13 because the Kobe A.D. line is still going strong. The Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360 is the latest addition and it seems to be very promising. From the A.D. to the A.D. Mid, Nike seems to have nailed it in many aspects different aspects on each shoe. Hopefully, everything will come together in this pair of shoes. Off the bat, the A.D. NXT 360 looks more like a standard low cut Kobe model and it is equipped with one of Nike’s latest cushioning system (React + Lunarlon) and material (360 FlyKnit). Just these aspects itself raised my expectations a lot. The Nike Kobe line really took a hit with the A.D. but hopefully this is a comeback. Significant Tech Present in the Shoe: – 360 FlyKnit Upper – Heel Counter – TPU Shank – Lunarlon and React Drop-in Midsole Aesthetics and Materials (9/10): If you have been following the Nike Kobe line, you will know that since the Nike Kobe 4 or 5, low cut Kobes have become the staple for this line. The A.D. NXT and A.D. Mid did stray away from that but with the new A.D. NXT 360 seem to have saved that. The 360 FlyKnit is the latest material to be featured on a shoe upper regardless of what sports it is. The threads seems to be infused with some form of plastics and allowed it to be durable while being very thin, especially at the forefoot. At the ankle area however, there seems to be more regular knitting hence it feels thicker but more comfortable. Durability on the upper seems surprisingly good given how thin it is and ventilation, of course, is perfect. In my opinion, the hype on the 360 FlyKnit seems so be nothing special at all. The knit is plastic-like and yes it is used as the whole upper, however, it does not do anything much at all. It is not stretchy and does not feel as comfortable as regular FlyKnit. The shoe does look a little sporty but it being a Kobe signature model, there will definitely be people wearing them off the court. The shoe haven’t had many colourways coming out yet but if Nike could get it right, I foresee many people rocking these on the streets. However, just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I’ll get more into that later. The shoe might be new but it can be found on the feet of several NBA players, most notably DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors). Fit (10/10): With any type of woven materials, fit can get a little tricky. But the Kobe A.D. NXT 360 is confusing to many levels. For me, I went true to size but felt that the shoe was a little long. Some of the BBallEquips crew members went down half a size to counter the extra length. As for wide footers, you may not have to go up half a size at all. All in all it really is a shoe you will have to try in stores for sure. Once you get the right size for you, you are good to go as there no break-in time required whatsoever. There are no FlyWire cables which is surprising, but not as surprising as how well this knitted material wraps around your feet once you are laced up tightly. Lockdown is pretty much perfect with the basic lacing system. I can’t really put a finger to what it is exactly but I feel like somehow the shoe’s structure and materials make the shoe very fitted to my feet. Support (8.5/10): Support is definitely not one of this shoe’s strong point. It’s good but just not great. What the Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360 lacked was lateral support. With such flexible materials, you would expect there to be some features in place to prevent you from rolling your ankles but there was no outrigger nor was there any TPU or foam structures in place. It’s not something that you will notice consistently when playing in it as the lockdown is very good but you will feel it time to time. But it’s not all bad. There is a Heel Counter that helps to hold your heel in place and provided ample heel support. This is probably the toughest support piece present on the shoe and it worked well. What I love in terms of support would have to be the TPU shank that is embedded into the Drop-in Midsole. This setup worked really well in providing torsional support and also great heel-to-toe transition. As a relatively new shoe reviewer, this is a tech that surprised me and hopefully it is placed in more shoes in the future. To add on to this, the midsole and outsole provide a very flat base for the shoe to adds a little bit of stability. Cushioning (10/10): The Drop-in Midsole is back, but instead of coupling Lunarlon with Zoom, it is paired with Nike’s latest cushioning, REACT. The Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360 features a setup that, even though functions differently from Adidas’ Boost, is on par with Boost when compared to other cushion setups in the market. The combination of the two foams bring about different performance benefits. Areas with Lunarlon provides most of the impact protection and comfort. Whereas areas with the React provides the response and court feel. The mixture of these two cushion setups felt like how Under Armour’s charged foam should have worked instead of how it is now, but that’s for another time. Back to the Kobe A.D. NXT 360s. The Drop-in Midsole was a public favourite since the Nike Kobe 7 and what it brings to the table is the smooth heel-to-toe transition while making sure the whole foot gets to enjoy the feel of the cushioning. As I’ve mentioned, the there is a TPU Shank embedded into the midsole and what that does is ensuring that the compression of the foam is controlled so that you will not feel unstable. It also helps a little in providing the setup with a springy feel. Traction (9/10): For the most part, the Nike Kobe A.D. NXT 360 features one of the better tractions to date. Currently there are only translucent rubber options but it is still providing ample coverage. No matter how dusty the court is, the traction will grip the court well and allow you to change direction or stop n a dime with ease. The traction pattern is rather tight so dust can get trapped time to time and also dust sticks to the rubber easily. However, the effectiveness of the traction is not really affected but a few wipes now and then would be the best. Now, remember what I said about wearing these on the streets? Here’s the issue. This rubber is one of the softest and pliable that I’ve ever came across on a shoe. If you are planning to wear these both on and off the court, you are going to wear the traction down real fast. It is disappointing as it means you have to be restricting in terms of the amount of time you wear these. As for outdoor court? Definitely not. Final Conclusion: (9.3/10) Overall, this are honestly pretty good despite the durability and support issues. Compared to recent Kobes, I’ll personally rank them a close second behind the Nike Kobe A.D. NXT even though the score might be higher. The A.D. Mid will be behind the 360s and the A.D. will be the last. I am a little disappointed with the high price point of the 360s when the 360 FlyKnit does not really do that much better than regular FlyKnit. The cushioning on these will definitely be my favourite aspect of the shoe and hopefully Nike will continue rolling out models with similar setups. |
