To Sign in Remotely, You Need the Right to Sign in Through Remote Desktop ServiceProblem in details: Remote Desktop Client users cannot connect remotely (through RDP) to Terminal Server 2016 and receive the error: “To sign in remotely, you need the right to sign in through Remote Desktop Services. By default members of the Administrators group have this right. If the group you’re in does not have the right, or if the right has been removed from the Administrators group, you need to be granted the right manually.”
I am getting "To sign in remotely, you need the right to sign in through Remote Desktop Services.

Hi Expert,
I would like to check why am I getting "To sign in remotely, you need the right to sign in through Remote Desktop Services." even if I add the feature Remote desktop services still same. I also went to localsecurity policy > Allow log
on through Remote Desktop Services and give all the right like domain admins, computers, users and user account direct, but still same. This only happens to my client pc and my two DC is all right only domain account. This issue happenout of I configure
my WSUS but it's on other DC.
I wanted to remove remote desktop services also cannot, two feature under it greyed out. I am using Win Server 2016 on Hyper V on Win 10 physical desktop, it's a test lab for self-learning though. Appreciate if any expert can assist me on.
Thanks!

You wouldn't need to add RDS services in order to use the two administrative remote desktop connections. Since a domain controller there is additional security so you may also need to add users;
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\Allow logon locally
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\Allow log on through Remote Desktop Services
I'd probably ask here for help with removing the RDS role.

Hi,
Try to turn off Hyper-V enhanced session mode and check the result.
Use local resources on Hyper-V virtual machine with VMConnect:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/learn-more/use-local-resources-on-hyper-v-virtual-machine-with-vmconnect

In general, we can open Server Manager -> Dashboard -> Add roles and features -> Start the remove roles and features wizard -> follow wizard, to remove all RDS Role Services and restart the system.

I have this issue also. I have performed all of the above steps and still RDP fails for local administrator accounts. RDP succeeds for domain administrators however. Any further suggested steps to troubleshoot will be greatly appreciated.

I have the same issue with existing local accounts and even a new local account.
