I just received a 52mm star filter, and it's too small to fit on my Nikon D7200's 18-140mm lens. I searched google, youtube, and forums, the manual, looked at all the writing on the lens, and cannot find the correct filter size! So it doesn't do any good to ask for a filter size for a D7200 since lots of different lenses can be attached to it. What you want is the filter size for a Nikon 18-140. Note that, in many cases, there are several lenses with the same focal length range so you have to specify which model you have. Yes. I would be highly surprised if Nikon wasted money on a 60mm diameter front element if no light was going to pass through the edges. Many of the Nikon DX lenses are 52mm, so I want to try a filter of some sort that's most likely the size I get. You can even build a nice kit of lenses that are only 52mm diameter: AF-S 18-55 AF-S 55-200 AF-S 35mm fast lens AF-S 85mm macro. And probably others.
