Very slow upon first start. Bad impression. Once all the bloatware is removed (no Dell, I didn't want Netflix preinstalled, but thanks for taking their money over giving me the choice) and windows 10 has been tweaked a bit to be less resource intensive (visual effects, start up programs indexing etc.) it seems to run quite nice. No telling how it'll run once the HDD has been filled a bit, but you can avoid this by using external storage.

Build quality seems reasonable, looks like a nightmare to open up and tweak but this won't affect the majority of users. No access ports on the bottom for installing more ram or anything, full removal of the palmrest required for any modifications.

Keyboard seems pretty reasonable. Touchpad is one single giant button which feels alien to me but it's quite responsive.

Good sounds coming from it, even better thanks to the preinstalled EQ software, far better than I expected.

Biggest bottleneck of the system is likely to be the HDD which can be easily fixed with a SSD installed but good luck getting it into the laptop on your own. I had intended to do this myself but there's no way of doing it without taking it to pieces.

It's a good product, but there are a few things because of which this product is not so great. First of all, the quality of a keyboard is not so robust. The keys are little flaky and can be improved for better typing. There is a bit lag in using a mouse pad and sound is not so great. The processor is working absolutely fantastic and great for people who want to use it only for the official purpose. The built-in quality of the machine is amazing. MS Office is not fully activated. You guys have to call Dell support to get activated for the lifetime. If your desires are not much then you can go for this laptop.

Buy this laptop and upgrage hdd to ssd and put old hdd to caddy case. This machine is now in the next level. For professional use extend memory (add 8 gb ram). I am 99% satisfied with the pc. Display quality is not up to the limit. Thanks

This is a pathetic Laptop, very slow, sluggish, uses disc space and memory full even if you are not using the laptop. Thanks to the HDD this is damn slow. I have been using this laptop for 3 years to date and right from day 1 this has been slow. Contacted DELL ASC and gave for inspection, re-installed OS (more than 5 time) yet it has been slow as snail. I purchased this for 43K and honestly speaking it has gone in vain and a useless laptop. 8GB RAM is used up 90% even though just a folder would be open such is its pathetic optimization. The charger which came with the laptop died in a year and then got a new one. Neither the old one nor the new charger made any difference as the max time that I was able to use the laptop was just 1.5-2 hours. Hence, battery sucks. After an OS update the screen started flickering and hence I rushed to DELL ASC. Although they did was install the OS again and charged me 1397 + GST as usual (standard charge even if they inspect). This is an i5 processor laptop and it behaves as a Celeron processor Laptop. Very bad experience

Writing review after 10 days of usage. - good laptop if you don't want graphics card. - Product warranty is 1 year but when I purchased at that time it is valid for 6 months only, rise the concern in Dell customer care and they have resolved. - Battery backup is good. - go for this product if you looking in this range.

Bought it in Oct 2018. Writing this review after 2 years of usage. Cons: The laptop is too slow to bear with at this price range. My earlier Dell Inspiron i3 (bought in 2012) is still faster than this. Bulky; not at all travel friendly. Pros: Good display quality. More than sufficient memory.

Bought the laptop after many comparisons (including offline Dell stores) and i am happy that i got a good deal from amazon including cashback and exchange. Given the price after that it is a good deal for this laptop. I am writing this review after 7 days of using the laptop. Laptop performance is good, quick activation of windows after connecting to the internet. I only use it for browsing and downloading movies and doing some personal work. No heavy stuff so for that i5 8th gen with 8 gb ram is good. Office and McAfee got activated for lifetime. Only minus point was that warranty was only valid for 8 months and when i called amazon helpdesk and they said that the invoice date matters and Dell would entertain that. I then followed with Dellcare on Twitter and after producing the invoice they changed the warranty date to one year. So no issues there. Seller packing was good and the product was delivered without any scratches.

The 15.6 inch laptop with i5 8th Gen, 1 TB Hard disk space, 8 GB Ram is excellent for everyday use, web surfing, watching movies, etc..

Note: The MS Office pre-installed here is a one month trial version and not with lifetime license. Sellers should clearly mention it.

one of the sellers wrote in Q&A that MS Office in this product has lifetime validity, which is false information. Amazon should take that down and also take action against the seller for false info.

Not upto the mark. Go for other laptops than Dell. Even if the service is good , we should not always take the laptop to service centre even they do it for free. Once we buy a product there should never be a chance of taking it to the service centre atleast for first few years.. my old laptop was Sony and I never had to take that to service centre even after using it for 5 complete years. This laptop also heavy please go for light weight models . No point in spending your time in getting free service done . Time is more valueable
